Streakr (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• We collect only the following:
• Profile information you voluntarily provide (display name, bio, etc.)
• Photos and videos you choose to capture or upload (profile pictures, chat media, posts, etc.)
• Location for the purposes of displaying your distance to other users.
• We do not collect contacts, or any other personal data beyond what you explicitly provide.
• Community Interactions
• We collect data on your interactions within the app, such as joining events or voting on community topics, to facilitate group features and display collective interest to other users.
• We do not use this data to present ads / instigate background services. It is purely to show your community engagement. Your participation in such is not required.

2. How We Use the Camera & Microphone

The camera and microphone are accessed only when you actively choose to perform the following actions:

• Identity Verification (Onboarding): To keep the community bot-free, we use the camera during sign-up to ensure you are a real person via a local "liveness check" (e.g., blinking or turning your head). Note: This processing is performed locally on your device; we do not store biometric facial templates on our servers.
• Content Creation: Taking photos or recording videos for your profile, chats, or community posts.
• Video Messaging: Recording audio and video for direct communication.
• Audio: Some in-chat games offer the ability to record audio. E.g. in the chat-game chess, you can upload a personal “check” or “checkmate” audio clip.
• These sensors are never activated automatically outside of these specific verification and creation steps. Media is uploaded only after you explicitly confirm (e.g., tap “Send,” “Post,” or “Save”). We never record or transmit a live feed without your direct action.

3. Device Permissions

• Camera – Used for identity verification during onboarding to ensure a bot-free community via a local "liveness check." It is also used to let you capture photos or videos for your communications.
• Microphone – Used during active video recording with sound, and for voice clips.
• Photos / Storage – Used only to save media you capture or to let you select existing photos/videos from your gallery.
• Media Metadata: When you upload photos or videos, we may collect associated metadata, such as the time the media was captured (photoTakenAt). This data is currently unused but may be exposed in future releases.
• Notifications – Used to provide real-time updates for chats, community interactions, and important account alerts. You can opt-out or customize these at any time via your device settings.

We do not access these permissions at any other time or for any other purpose.

4. Age Requirements

• Streakr is intended for users aged 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

• Uploaded photos and videos are stored on encrypted servers using industry-standard security practices. Content is only visible to users you share it with inside Streakr.
• You have full control over your data. You may delete your account at any time directly within the App Settings. Upon deletion:
• Your profile information, photos, and videos will be permanently removed from our active databases.
• Any cached data or backups will be purged in accordance with our standard data retention cycles.
• Please note that content you have shared in community chats may remain visible to other participants, but will no longer be associated with your profile. As a feature of Streakr, independent of account deletion, the chats corresponding to your account will show as blurred messages to the users you once conversed with–this is a consequence of deleting a chat which is a batched process separate but included in account deletion.
• Data like the user’s latest login timestamps are processed ephemerically via TTL (Time To Live) services and some of this remains on the user’s profile (e.g. “last seen” at the bottom of a user’s profile shows the users latest visit to the app and does not disappear automatically).

6. Changes to This Policy

• We will notify you of any material changes via the app or the email address associated with your account.
